Singing the Blues....

in Memphis. Well after 28 hours of air travel we finally arrived in Memphis is the great expectations of having only one more airplane ride before we arrived at our final destination. That wasn't to be the case, fog has kept us landed here and we are currently (well I should say the boys and Big Daddy) resting. CJ and I are having a ball in the lobby. Hopefully in 4 hours we will depart, although we are having to fly into a different airport and this will add 3-4 hours onto our driving time, it will be good to finally be home for Christmas!!!

So an update on our Blog PCS, I am in need of some help with redecorating at the new place as I have decided to have a nav bar added. This seems to be a bit more than I bargained for and I was hoping someone out there might be able to help me with setting up the links for my nav bar. (Which I have no idea what that means?!?!) I have tried to google only to come up with help for after you have your links but nothing about where or how to get those links up. Do I need to make a blog for each link I am wanting to have in my nav bar? Thanks for any help you can give this clueless blogging beginner. Well I must go for now. I pray that everyone enjoys their Christmas and I look forward to having you over to our new place at the beginning of the year.

Working on a New Home

I am so excited to announce that I will have a new blogger home soon. When I started blogging I was clueless and as I have pushed through the last several months I have noticed things I liked, things I didn't, and things I just had to have and well that is going to sum up my new blog. So stay tune, I can't wait to welcome you to our new home. And as with any PCS (Permenant Change of Station) always expect the unexpected!!!!

Selah: Mary verses Martha

So I've been thinking alot lately about how to really take time out to ponder the joys of this season. To add on to the normal stress that is produced around this time of year I have to cordinate an international flight for a family of 5. I have felt so overwhelmed at times that if I were a pc, I would completely crash. God has restored my focus as he always brings to mind the story of Martha and Mary:

Luke 10:40-42 (The Message)

Mary and Martha
38-40 As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home. She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. "Master, don't you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand."
41-42The Master said, "Martha, dear Martha, you're fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it's the main course, and won't be taken from her."

For those who really know me, you know that I could talk all day long about My Savior, Jesus. And that is why I especially enjoy Christmas as it is a wonderful time, through our Christmas Family Update Letters, to sing praises for the year we have had and help us to focus on the year to come. And in the spirit of having a Mary heart in a Martha time of the year; I have decided to email our Christmas Family Update Letter and send cards to those who I do not have an email address for. AND for all my blogger friends I have decided to post our Christmas Family Update Letter for 2008. As we will be traveling soon, if I don't get to post before the year is up: Merry Christmas and Have a Blessed New Year.

This year can best be summed up with these 3 words:
Blessings: watching our children grow older, (at the time of this writing LJ is 7, JJ is 4, and CJ is almost 23 months) Big Daddy's promotion to Warrant Officer, and clarity with our home school goal.
Changes: moving from McT to Kinser, many dear friends PCSing, and for me slowly transitioning out of several ministries near and dear to my heart so that I may better focus on our home.
Spiritual Growth: Big Daddy was ordained as a deacon and I became a VisionKeeper. LJ started his last book for Sparks, JJ is having a ball in his last year of Cubbies, and CJ has become our family song bird. You can always hear her belting out her own version of “This Little Light of Mine” and a song she learned from the boys, “Jesus is My Super Hero.”
We eagerly seek out the works that the Lord has prepared for us in the New Year to come.May the grace of God’s salvation fill your hearts and shine Christ’s bright light into the New Year. Merry Christmas, The Jobe Family

Wordfilled Wednesday: Luke 12:30-31

your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and he will give you everything you need. Luke 12:30-31 (NLT)

I was so excited to get this shot. CJ was going at her own slow pace after we had finished eating lunch at a restaurant when she discovered this butterfly. For her every insect or bug is a BB. I was getting impatient with her because she wasn't listening as I was asking her to come with me and get in the van. But at God's prompting, I sat down right there beside her and we watched the butterfly for at least a good 10 minutes, then I got the idea of getting a picture. I got this one just a second before he was ready to fly off and enjoy some flowers in peace.

Don't forget to check out more Wordfilled Wednesdays!!!

Learn 2 Love, Love 2 Learn

2 Corinthians 5:13-14
Christ's love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do.

It takes more than bread to really live. Luke 4:4 MSG
